When a Monkey Meets a Mermaid…

I knew she was special when she told me that my ’91 Toyota van was sexy…

Since then we have been exploring all that Northern California has to offer. Whether we’re camping, surfing, backpacking or rock climbing, our only goal is to experience whatever comes our way. Our only plan is to not have a plan.

We have found that serendipity is the essence of living fully. Being on the road allows for endless spontaneity and creates space for us to soak up the natural beauty and richness that life has to offer.

Outfitting the van and hand building the interior has given us a sense of pride and accomplishment in realizing a life-long vision of creating a functional, mobile living space. It allows us to break free from the confines of conventional living, in which a vehicle remains in a garage or parking lot for most of its life.

We are constantly updating and revamping the van, installing new additions and brainstorming ideas for the next upgrade. We are committed to realizing a collective vision, which is comparable to the way we function in our relationship—constantly moving forward, compromising and working together to create something beautiful.

We believe that as humans, we possess a shared, inherent drive to explore. Traveling in our “TripShip” feeds that desire, thus creating happiness, fulfillment and a strong bond between us. Time spent driving from destination to destination begets deep, meaningful conversation, as well as uncontrollable laughter and soft, contented silence. Once we reach where we’re going, we see the brightest stars, find the best waves and wake up in the most incredible places, with views that could bring you to tears. The best part of it all is waking up in self-proclaimed paradise next to the one you love the most.

It’s true that home is where you park it, but for us home is wherever I’m with you.

We are unsure of where the road will lead us, but we trust that our spontaneous spirits and open minds will guide us in the right direction.

Much love,

Mir and Aaron

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
