Australia: Crescent Head Region Vanlife Gathering

Vanlife Diaries are so excited to be partnering with Waves Campground again at the Crescent Head region to bring you our first Australian Vanlife Gathering for 2020! Set in a unique and unspoiled bushland setting, “Waves Campground creates the perfect holiday home for any traveller. With the untouched surroundings and abundance of wildlife, you will truly experience the outdoors of Australia.” With central amenities, hot showers and bbq area, there are many creature comforts and natures relaxing charms.

Purchase a ticket which include two nights camping and all event activities (Purchase through the ‘PURCHASE TICKETS’ link below) : Ticket fees are $60 per adult for the weekend, $25 per child aged 5-16, under 5 year old children are free. Event tickets must be purchased online before the weekend and it won’t be open to day visitors. There are no ‘Day passes’ available. You need to purchase a full weekend ticket to come. All our previous gatherings have sold out so purchase a ticket ASAP as we don’t want you to miss out. THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY event (ALL ARE WELCOME). Vans, buses, trucks, cars, motorbikes, swags, RVs are welcome - bring what ya got! Non-profit partners (Giving back): 10% of each Vanlife Gathering ticket purchased for this event gets split between our non-profit partners; One Wave (Mental Health), Take 3 (Environmental) & Yarn (Cultural awareness) There will be a One Wave ‘Free the Funk’ surf raising awareness for mental health, a Take 3 Beach clean up and a Yarn experience around the bonfire as a part of the many fun and enriching activities on this weekend. There will be music gear supplied for a community ‘Open Mic’ too!

Camping facilities: This ticket is for an unpowered site. There is the option for a powered site for $5 extra per night, as long as you choose this ticket option when you buy your ticket. Toilets, hot showers (free) are available & the campground is just 50m to a beautiful beach.  No dogs are allowed at this campground. There is hardly any mobile phone reception but you can purchase some wifi from the office.

No stress if you don’t have a van or other camp set up at the moment, you can book a bed in a dorm of the Bunkhouse! Please select the appropriate room when you buy a ticket.

Waves office hours are 9-5pm and you can contact the office on 02 6566 0144. If you want to arrive outside of office hours, please let the office know prior to arrival. All guests (new return) have to check in at the office on arrival. It’s the first thing to do when you drive in so that the campground staff can welcome you, take your REGO and talk you through the map of the campground & the event areas. They will also show you which space is allocated to you and answer any questions you may have.

Waves has an awesome ‘Surf Fuel Cafe’ serving barista coffee, healthy & high energy breakfast & lunches and amazing street food too run by Fronds Food Co.

Make new friends and say hello to old ones. There will be an array of other collaborations and activities including sharing stories by the fire, learning about the regions history and acknowledging the traditional owners of the land, live music and art will be shared and there is fishing, surfing, hiking, swimming opportunities all around the area too! The best way to reach Waves is via Crescent Head. If you are driving up from the South, please note that the southern part of Point Plomer Road is a 4WD track. If you are not set up for this adventure, please stay on the highway until Kempsey/Crescent Head exit.

There are no cancellations, refunds, or exchanges on any order for any reason once it has been submitted to us.
